January - John Deere Des Moines Works "Red Flag" Ergonomic Assessment Presentation

SME 186’s monthly meeting will be a presentation by Mike Hilby, Global Manager, Platform Engineering Operations for Product Engineering Center of John Deere Waterloo Works. Before Mike came to Waterloo, he was Manager of Manufacturing Engineering for John Deere Des Moines Works in Ankeny and implemented a successful ergonomic program.

His presentation will cover how one factory assessed and changed their approach for an Ergonomic safe environment of their 1400 employees, 2 million square foot manufacturing facility, and 900 processes. He will show how data analysis, independent assessment, and employee involvement was used to identify systemic issues and ergo hot spots.

Mike is a graduate from Iowa State University in mechanical engineering.
