Details:

SME Chapter 186 will be meeting with the Denver High School FIRST Tech Challenge robotics team (FTC), 5975 Cybots?  They will be 

giving a presentation about this past season's robotics competition, INTO THE DEEP, and what the FIRST program and FIRST Tech Challenge 

program is about, and why It's 'More Than Just Robots'.

Founded in 1989 by inventor Dean Kamen, FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) uses robots as a way for students 

to learn important skills in engineering design and build, fundraising, collaborative problem-solving, communication skills while building self-

confidence. FIRST uses sport-like challenges to help grade school and high school students stay interested in STEM.

This meeting will include a presentation and tour, followed by dinner.

Park in the west parking lot and enter through the West facing door located at the north corner of the parking lot. 

Schedule

4:45 – Gather at Denver Elementary School

5:00 – Start of Presentation/Tour with Cybots

6:30 – Dinner - Pizza at school

Price

There is no registration fee for this event to make it accessible to everyone. Pizza and soda will be the meal for the event.

To cover the meal cost, a "free will offering" is requested.

We encourage Spouses, Friends, and Significant Others to attend.
