SME Chapter 186's April meeting will be a tour of Geater Machining & Manufacturing, Co, in Independence, Iowa.

Geater Machining and Manufacturing, Co. has been servicing the aerospace, electronics, and high-tech industries since 1962. Collins Aerospace was our first customer in 1962, and to this day they remain our largest customer. Over time, new clients became long-term relationships as Geater’s reputation for outstanding on-time delivery of high-quality precision machined and fabricated parts became the one that set the bar in our industry.

Geater’s skilled workforce, strong work ethic, state-of-the-art machines and strict quality control measures were already providing our customers with the most cost-effective production methods available, but our customers required, and deserved, more. To help eliminate the need for customers to send their machined and fabricated parts to multiple vendors, Geater expanded their offerings to provide a variety of secondary value-added manufacturing processes, becoming a true one-stop-shop to save our customers valuable time and money.

Tour participants must be wearing closed-toe shoes and have a photo ID.

Safety glasses will be provided if you do not have proper eye protection.

Schedule

4:45 – 5:00 PM: Arrival, Check-in and Meet/Greet

5:00 – 6:30 PM: Presentation and Tour

6:45 PM: Meal at Pizza Ranch

Price

SME and Joint Members: $20; SME Retirees: $15; SME Students: $15; Non-members: $25 (Attending only the tour is free.)
