March - Viking Pump, Inc. Tour

SME 186’s monthly meeting will be a plant tour at Viking Pump. The facility we will tour is located in Industrial Park in Cedar Falls. Viking Pump was founded in 1870 on a unique pump principal invented by a Danish emigrant Jens Nielsen. Currently they have two facilities, one near downtown Cedar Falls and another located on Viking Road. Over the time, they have expanded the new facility at Viking Road into 405,000 square feet manufacturing area which includes Iron foundry, component manufacturing and assembly operations. This would be an excellent opportunity to observe manufacturing of rotary gear pumps. Please mark your calendar and register to attend this event.

Tour Instructions – Enter gate marked Plant #2, park in main parking lot, and go to Door #3 Manufacturing General (east side of the plant). Safety Glasses are required.
