Red Star Yeast Co. LLC is a yeast manufacturing company, owned by Lesaffre Yeast Corporation through a joint venture with ADM. Red Star is located on the southwest side of Cedar Rapids and first started construction on the new plant in 2004, and now employs about 120 people. This highly automated facility located at 950 60th Avenue SW, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, processes raw material through growing, harvesting, and packaging. The final products are liquid “Cream” Yeast, Compressed Yeast, and Nutritional Inactive Dry Yeast. Red Star is looking forward to your visit to their facility on April 16th!

3:30 – 4:00 pm – Meet to Car Pool at John Deere Drive Train (DTO)

4:00 – 5:00 pm – Travel

5:00 – 6:30 pm – Tour

6:30 – 7:15 pm – Drive to restaurant and Social time

7:15 – 8:00 pm – Dinner at Jerseys Restaurant

8:15 – 8:30 pm – Business Meeting/Announcements

Dress Code

Close toed shoes and no jewelry. If you own safety glasses or steel toed shoes please bring to wear for the tour. Single wedding band with no stonework or intricate metal work may worn. Jewelry may be worn onsite so long as it can be removed and placed in a pocket below the waist during the plant tour.

Arrival Instructions

All visitors will be required to check-in at the front security gate. The security post will provide a map to the Main Admin Office.

A list of attendees in advance is greatly preferred. If possible, please car pool as parking is limited.
