Power Engineering & Manufacturing, Ltd. (PEM) was established by Founder, Saul Herscovici in March 1975. Built in 1992, the 48,880 square feet facility was specially designed and built for our type of manufacturing. In 1994 an addition was added that increased our facility size to 110,000 square feet and continues to grow today. Our Design Department is staffed by mechanical engineers as well as draftsmen.

Over 90% of our machining operations are completed by highly advanced, computer controlled machines linked to our Engineering Department through the CAD/CAM system. PEM's machinists are highly skilled and meticulously trained in-house. Over 90% of our employees utilize cutting edge technology on a daily basis. The entire work force at PEM continuously strives to improve our product and productivity.

Our gear boxes are state of the art in engineering with a higher power density, efficiency and durability than our competition.

We have over 300 models and we are adding a new model every three weeks:

* Planetary Speed Reducers- torque 10,000 to 2 million foot pounds.

* Angle Drive Speed Reducers-torque 5,000 to 250,000 foot pounds.

* Parallel Shaft Speed Reducers-torque 10,000 to 100,000 foot pounds.

Some of our 350+ applications are as follows:

* Trenching Machines where flywheel reducers and differentials steering transmissions are used.

* Coal crushers in underground mines where angle drives are used.

* Road construction machines.

* Oil well drilling and servicing machines.

* Indoor test stands.

* Railway maintenance machines where our gear boxes are used for.

* Propulsion as well as working on the railway bed.

* Hydraulic pump drives.

* Aggregate preparation and production machines.

* Metal working machines.
