Presenter: Daniel Sexe, Center Manager

Dan Sexe is the Manager of the Waterloo, IA BioLife Plasma Services, a professional business where the blood component plasma is collected from healthy individuals and made into medications to treat multiple disorders within the human body. Dan has worked with BioLife since 2011, starting in the entry level position and moving through roles such as Supervisor, Assistant Manager, and currently Center Manager.

He graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2011 with a degree in Biology and attended Estherville Lincoln Central High School the years prior. He has been married for five years to wife Courtney and has a two year old son, Mason and a second due in May of this year.

Dan attributes most of his management training to direct mentorship from other BioLife Managers and also taking a month’s worth of courses at the company directed “BioLife University.” Although he swears by most of his skills coming from real life encounters from his seven months he spent in Cambodia, a county in SE Asia, where he learned above all-patience!

Presentation:

Dan Sexe will give an overview of BioLife, discuss their metric tracking for quality, lean, and Kaizen events. He will review a recent yield improvement Kaizen including the tools they used.
