Annual Joint Meeting of SME/ASABE/SAE/ASME/SWE

“Design and Manufacturing: A Vision of Tomorrow”

You are invited to attend the annual Joint Section Meeting of the following engineering societies:

American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE), Iowa Section

Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), Mississippi Valley Section

American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Central Iowa Section

Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), Waterloo Chapter

Society of Women Engineers (SWE), Cedar Valley Section

The meeting will be held at The Supervisors’ Club in Waterloo, Iowa on Thursday, November 7th, 2013. The theme for this year's meeting is:

Design and Manufacturing: A Vision of Tomorrow

Technical session topics will be:

1. "Manufacturing Facility Enhancement – John Deere Foundry” James R. McKee Jr. (Principal Engineer, John Deere Foundry, Waterloo Works)

2. “Aircraft Cursor Control Panel – Guiding Aviation” – Tom Thornburg (Senior Mechanical Engineer, Rockwell Collins)

3. "Vermeer BPX9000 Bale Processor" – Lucas Graham, Senior Project Engineer and Philip Stam, Design Engineer (Vermeer Corporation)

Keynote Speaker: “The Innovation Cycle: Discovery/Development in Rapid Prototyping” – Chris H. Hill (Manager, Innovation Programs Co-chair, CIRAS – Iowa State University)

Agenda for the evening:

- Registration starts at 4:00 pm

- Concurrent Technical Sessions begin at 5:00 pm

- Social Hour: 6:00

- Dinner Buffet: 6:45

- Evening Speaker: 7:30
